200,000 tons of gravel travel daily on rails from the gravel pit in Starkenbach to Dornbirn
In the Starkenbach Valley since the heavy thunderstorms of 1999 and 2005 at least ten million m³ of gravel. Material that was supposed to be taken away because the snowmelt and strong rain were dangering the facilities settled on the channel.

Calculation for a Hidden Champion
They have become a sheer myth. “Hidden Champions”: world market leaders from the middle class which are barely known but massively successful in their field. FAF is exactly this. Sebastian Henjes had the – as he says himself – covetable experience of working in this, fascinating field. For a project he developed a calculation scheme which has lately been put into practice.

Multi-million business – FAF in Zeetow is developing conveying technique for all over Europe – the plants are more popular than ever.
ZEESTOW – Frank Riedel is just coming from a meeting “It was about how we are going to cover the orders for this year with our available resources”, explains the proxy and sales manager of FAF. To set this straight – the order books are so extremely well filled that the FAF is considering new investments and new employments.
Materials handling, which was developed in Zeetow, is highly popular on the construction sites and the basic industry all over Europe and even worldwide. Even in Cuba and Abu Dhabi big plants and treadmills can be found. By using the technique which is produced in Poland by the 100% FAF subsidiary materials such as sand and gravel can be transported over long distances.
